1) Virtual Follower Feature for Cam Test Stand Released  The Plus Version of the Cam Analyzer software has the Virtual Follower feature, which allows you to measure cams without the actual follower for that particular cam.  We've further refined this feature to give improved accuracy and repeatability.  Click on the following link to go to the Cam Test Stand page on our website.  Then click on the links there for different reports showing that the results obtained with the Virtual Follower are very close to what is obtained with the actual follower.

The advantage of the Virtual Follower feature is you don't need the actual follower or the bore adapter of the correct size for the follower.  For some valve trains, like Overhead Cam systems with Rocker Arms, the Virtual Follower method is the only method available without installing the cam in the engine or head.

If you already own the Cam Analyzer (std or Plus Version), you can download this update free at:  http://www.performancetrends.com/download.htm#ca  You can unlock this latest version yourself. Just be sure to use exactly the same Registered Name when you install this new version and then the same unlock number will unlock the update. You can view your Reg Name by clicking on Reg To: at the top of the main screen on your current version, before you download and install the new version.  The standard Cam Analyzer has some updates also.

The Plus Version is a $200 upgrade from the std Cam Analyzer, and is only recommended if you are using the Cam Test Stand.
