1)  New Quick Cam Checker Feature:  GM 602 and GM 604 Profiles Provided for Comparison  The Quick Cam Checker is gaining popularity in checking the GM 602 and 604 "sealed motor" racing classes.  Everyone wants to gain an edge in power and the cam is the first place racers look.  The latest Quick Cam Checker software now provides a GM 602 and GM 604 profile measured from legal engines.  You can assign one of these as your baseline, and make comparisons between these known legal cams and the cam you just measured.

Pictured below is the legal 604 profile as a baseline (black lines) graphed with the profile just measured with the Checker.  The user put 2 deg of advance in the measured profile for better comparison, probably due to some timing chain stretch.  You can see the exhaust profile is nearly identical and the intake profile is slightly low, so this cam would pass inspection fine.

2)  4 Link Plus Now Shows Bar Lengths  Recently a 4 Link Plus user had a good suggestion, the the program should display the lengths of the bars.  This way if you changed a bar location, you would know what bar length would keep the rear end in its current location.

The screen below shows the bar length and angles in blue above and below the bars.  There is also an option to show the change in length as you click on different bars, which is shown in blue at the upper left of the screen below.  So if you switch from one bar location to another, it could show that the lower bar length went from 19.58" to 19.75" and the "Lower bar change = .17".  Therefore you could just lengthen the bar .17" and it should fit right into the new hole with no change in the rear axle location.

If you already own the standard 4 Link Calculator, this is only available in the Plus version, a $70 upgrade.
