1)  New Engine Log Book Pro Features, Movies  We're continuing to add features to the Engine Build Log Book Pro.  Recent additions include:

• We've added calculator for QMP Rod Length Fixture Preset, to calculate preset for dial indicator when using QMP Fixture.   See link to movie below, and picture below.
• "Hor Opposed" engine layouts (like VW) now have an additional main bearing input.  For example, a horizontal opposed VW 4 cylinder actually has 4 main bearings on the crankshaft.
• We've added Spring Data Calculator to show and adjust inputs related to Open Spring Height based on cam and rocker ratio specs and Seated and Open heights from the Head inputs.  See picture below.
• The program now allows for multiple readings of Rod Length. NOTE: If you have modified the program inputs, you will likely have to click on Edit, then Modify Program Layout, then Restore Inputs to have this change take effect. 

This is a free update if you own the Engine Log Book Pro.  Just install over the top of your existing Engine Log Book Pro.  If you are asked, select to do a Refresh installation instead of a Complete (typical) installation.

If you own the Standard or Plus version of Engine Log Book, you can upgrade to the Pro version for $450 or $350 respectively.  to send an email for more details about upgrading your program.

2) Quick Cam Checker Updates  We've been adding some features to our Quick Cam Checker, which several tech inspectors are using to tech engines at the track, especially 602 and 604 crate motors.  

      (Lift sensors not included with bracket.)

These features are in firmware version 1.67 and include:

• Providing more info for troubleshooting the raw data being recorded.  This is useful if the logger says it can not find the correct info to calculate the cam profile.
• Being able to handle engines or setups where the rotary sensor is spinning very fast.  This can happen with faster starters (say, over 300 RPM or more) or if the ratio between the engine pulley is much larger than the rotary sensor wheel.
• Changing the "Step Size" under Options now has a much larger effect on how the logger records data.

When you first power up the logger, the firmware version is displayed.  If you have a firmware older than v1.67 and want it updated, you can return your logger for these updates.  There will be a $50 charge plus shipping.  to send an email for more details.
