The Practice Tree's screen below shows the lights during a run for handicap racing, where both drivers have different dial-ins. That's why the right lane's lights are ahead of the left lane. The program also allows for external switches to be used (using our Com Port connector) to trigger the tree. for Practice Tree Switches.
Original screen from Version 1.1 is still available. Both screens offer the detailed statistics after each run as shown below.
The Practice Tree lets you practice and fine tune your starting line technique for competitive drag racing. Most drag racers know that consistently "cutting" a good light is the most critical aspect to winning. However, how many drag racers know exactly:
The effect staging 1" deeper will have on their car's rollout time, and how their body's reaction or delay box must change to compensate for it.
What happens to rollout time if you install larger diameter front tires.
Do you "red light" more often when the other lane leaves first (handicap bracket racing).
What can I do to quicken my reaction time (cut a .510 light) when I current am very consistent at cutting a .580 light. Or use the new timing numbers of cutting a .010 light instead of a .080 light.
Performance Trends’ Practice Tree is not just a fun game to play against your friends, against yourself, or against a computer driver. It is also the most sophisticated Practice Tree available for analyzing and understanding what happens during staging, how your car rolls through the lights and what causes red lights.
The Practice Tree keeps detailed records of your last 100 passes. These records can be analyzed to help find trends which may affect your performance at the strip. For example, are you quicker at night (dark computer screen colors), do you red light more often if the other car leaves first, are you better or worse after taking a 60 minute break (typical of actual racing). The Analysis Screen has several options for you to analyze your entire 100 run history or just sections, and analyze the history for different trends of how different factors (like screen color) affects your performance.
Other Options/Preferences:
The Plus version of the Practice Tree includes a shift light, and will measure how accurately you can shift following the shift light. This feature can be added to your standard Practice Tree program.
You have several inputs to fine tune how you want this feature to work as shown in the screen below. These include sound through most any sound card, and the ability to specify a "trick" RPM, an RPM which occurs before your desired RPM to help you more perfectly shift at your desired Shift RPM. The "Load Default Settings" is a feature to load in most of the settings in this screen from as few as 5 easy inputs.
When you finish your run, you will get results as shown below, including an estimate of how much your ET suffers because you did not shift perfectly at the RPM you specified.
