Description

The Drag Racing Analyzer Pro is software for your personal computer to simulate a full power, standing start acceleration of most any vehicle you can design. However, it has several features to simulate Land Speed tracks like Bonneville and El Mirage.  It let's you play "what if" with engine power, weather, gear ratios, tire size, aerodynamic drag and down force, etc. and see the effect on MPH, tire spin, front and rear tire loads, and much more. "Its like having 20 miles of salt right in your computer."

The features described here are all available in the Drag Racing Analyzer Pro, not a special version of the program.  We are listing them here to highlight them for Land Speed Record Racers.  Features of particular interest to Land Speed Record Racers include:

  • Engine power can be modified during the run with 'ram air' effect from the hood scoop, plus other engine power modifiers.

  • Detailed plots of up to 22 different calculated results.

  • Import results from data loggers or other sources for making comparisons of simulated results to actual measured results.

  • Ability to create custom reports of results at various steps of time, distance or MPH. This allows you to check the effect of a modification on, say, 40 to 140 MPH times, or 500 to 1000 Ft times.

  • Chain calculations let you make several runs while the program automatically increments the spec of your choice.  See picture below.

  • Auto-Optimize feature (similar to Chain calculations), but you can try more specs at once as the program zeros in on your desired performance, like minimum ET, or the ET closest to (but slower than) 9.90.

The Pro will let you predict and understand how your vehicle performs with various combinations of parts. For example:

  • See trade-offs between better different gear ratios, tire size and shift RPMs for ultimate top speed between the timers.

  • Try different aerodynamics to see effect on top speed and front and rear down force on the tires to maintain control.

  • Calculate the Drag and Lift Coefficients from actual data.  See picture below.

  • All other features of the Drag Racing Analyzer Pro.

Find Best MPH with Chain Calculation changing final drive ratio.  A Final Drive of approximately 2.6 appears best.

Output:

Shown below is the standard output screen including output (requested by the user at every 20 MPH) and the Special Timer (selected by this user for timing between the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift).

Team Engineer Features for Land Speed Record Racers:

For an additional $100, you can add the Team Engineer features, which include several advanced features, including these related to Land Speed Record simulation: 

  • Special Preferences for more advanced features.  See picture below, lower right corner.
  • Advanced Bonneville Calcs will produce average speeds/MPHs over the standard Bonneville timers of 4 to 5 miles and the final 5.5 to 6.5 miles.  See picture below.
  • The Variable Aerodynamics lets you create a table of different drag and lift coefficients which can change at a particular MPH.  This could simulate changing an aerodynamic device to produce more downforce to maintain control at high speed.  See pictures below.

What You Get:

Program CD disks with 160+ page illustrated manual as PDF file on CD with several examples showing how to use the program . Many example engines and components preloaded in libraries for you to start with.
