1)  7.3L Ford Crate Motor into the 8's  Blaine Ramey working with Paul's High Performance of Jackson MI has pushed the new Ford 7.3L Godzilla crate motor into the 8s.  The motor is running 2 stages of nitrous, but is basically stock after that, even with stock cast exhaust manifolds.  This is the first Godzilla motor into the 8s, running 8.91 at 150 MPH this last weekend at the NMCA Cobra Jet Showdown at Norwalk OH.

Blaine is a Ford engineer and believes in doing the math, to push things to the limit, but not past the limit.  He uses several Performance Trends tools, like Drag Race Pro, Engine Analyzer Pro, and Cam Analyzer.  They are using a FuelTech FT600 to control the engine, including precise control of the Nitrous Outlet nitrous system.  The FT600 is also their data logger, which can export ASCII files for easy import into our Drag Race Pro "Team Engineer".  Here Blaine can tweek the car's setup (gear ratio, nitrous delivery, converter) to see what was needed to run under 9 seconds, but keep the motor under 7000 RPM.

Screen capture from Drag Race Pro, with "current results" being the simulation and "8.90 norwalk" being the actual data.

2) Shock Dyno Kit  We've sold lots of Shock Dyno Kits to let you computerize your "do it yourself" shock dyno, or update an older shock dyno.  We've gotten lots of "thank yous" from customers on how well the system works  This includes Brad Milne of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada who says "Can't thank you enough, your shock dyno software package works perfectly on my home made shock dyno. Two thumbs up! If I had Three I'd give you 3."  Here's a pic of Brad's great looking shock dyno:

3)  New Compression Ratio Pro Feature  Our Compression Ratio Calculator has proven to be a great help to most any engine builder.  It comes in 3 version, Standard, Plus and Pro.

We recently added a new feature to the Pro version for entering the Gasket Volume.  If you are only concerned with Compression Ratio calculations, this would be enough.  However, if you want Quench distance calculated, you need to know the gasket thickness.  And, if you run flathead motors, you can not even estimate the thickness assuming the gasket area is approximately equal to the bore area.  With a flathead, it can be much larger than the bore area.

If you own either the Standard or Plus version and want to update to the Pro version, cost is $70 or $40 respectively.

to send us an email to explain how to pay for this upgrade.
