1)  DataMite v4.1 Software Released  We've released a new v4.1 of our DataMite Analyzer software, for our Dyno, Drag Race and Road Race/Circle Track versions of our DataMite data loggers.  The new v4.1 does not have as many new features and options as we typically have with a new software release.  But we had to release it now to provide some new features for the new, bigger DataMite 4 logger.  Version 4.1 is shipping with all new DataMite orders.  The good news is if you get the v4.1 software, you will be able to get all the 4.1 updates free as we release them over the next couple of years.

The DataMite 4 has 2 digital output channels, which the DataMite Analyzer v4.1 software lets you take advantage of.
Turn on or off various devices via relays at certain conditions, like a fan when a temperature goes above a certain limit
Shift light at a particular RPM
Engine rev limiter
Engine over speed cutoff
Low oil pressure engine cutoff
And most any other logic you can imagine

The Drag Race DataMite 4 also has the ability to precisely determine the response time between a transbrake or clutch signal and a particular acceleration G level.  This can help you determine how consistent your vehicle is at launching.

Note:  If you already own a DataMite 4, you may have to return it to us to have it reflashed to take advantage of these features.

for our downloads page. The v4.1 demos are available on this page.  You will not see huge changes in v4.1 over v3.7 yet.

IMPORTANT:  If you install any of these v4.1 demos over the top of your existing working v3.7, it will turn your v3.7 into a 4.1 demo.  If you do not purchase v4.1, you will need to reinstall your v3.7 to get your v3.7 working again.

2)  Blog Post:  Suspension Analyzer fixed Bump Steer Problem  Blaine Ramey has been campaigning his Cobra Jet Mustang for a couple of years now.  Recently he used our Suspension Analyzer to solve a suspension problem he encountered after modifying his front suspension to accommodate a different oil pan.  The problem turned out to be a Bump Steer issue, and it was easily solved with Suspension Analyzer and shock travel data from his Drag Race DataMite 4 logger.  Bump Steer is the condition where the tires unintentionally "toe" in or out (steer) as the suspension moves up and down (bumps).

3)  Printing Bugs fixed in Engine Log Book  A user just reported a problem printing a particular screen in our Engine Log Book.  We looked into it and confirmed it was a real printing bug.  While we were at it, we uncovered a couple of other printing issues.  They were not real bugs, but printing inconveniences.  If you own Engine Log Book, you can update to the latest version for FREE.

If you are an engine builder and do not own the Engine Log Book, you may want to look into it.  Not only does it keep track of your engine build data, it has some calculations not found in our other programs.  It also "talks to" our Compression Ratio Calculator for added ease of use.

to see Readme.doc file showing what the latest changes are for the Engine Log Book.

to download the latest version of Engine Log Book v1.1 A.039.  This is not critical, but when asked, select to do a Refresh installation instead of a Complete (typical) installation.
